Greenwood Primary School has designed a rich art and music curriculum to support the holistic development of every student. Our curriculum is structured to ensure continuous and progressive learning in both art and music, fostering a lifelong appreciation and love for the arts.

Key Programmes
Aesthetics Week - Shining Stars
The Shining Stars programme provides students with a platform to showcase their talents and appreciate the talents of others. It is an opportunity for students to express themselves creatively through the arts, fostering a sense of pride and confidence.
Performances: P2 Violin Programme, P3 Angklung & Kulintang Programme, SYF Youth Station (Original Songs), Musical talents from all levels.
Aesthetics Fest
The Aesthetics Fest is designed to enhance cultural appreciation among students, helping them understand and experience the diversity of cultural expressions in the arts. This vibrant festival provides opportunities for students to explore their creativity, express themselves, and showcase their skills and talents. The Aesthetics Fest fosters a deeper appreciation for the rich tapestry of global cultures and artistic traditions by encouraging artistic exploration through a curated programme of visual art, music and dances.

Art Trail & Exhibition
The Art Trail and Exhibition aim to give voice to our students by creating platforms for them to display their artworks at three different levels: the classroom, the school, and the community. This initiative helps students understand how artworks can serve as vessels for their expressions and beliefs.
Museum Based Learning Journey & Assembly Programme
The Museum Based Learning (MBL) Journey extends students’ appreciation and experience of the arts. This programme is a core part of the Primary 4 art curriculum and includes pre-, during-, and post-visit activities to local art museums. Students engage as both artists and audience members, culminating in a showcase of their artistic expressions. The Assembly Programme is curated to expose students to different art forms throughout their school years.
Platforms and Activities that Engages our Students in Learning
Art: Over six years, students engage in various mediums, learning about local artworks and artists. This strengthens their national identity and cultural heritage appreciation. Through art discussions and projects, students develop visual literacy, imagination, and innovation skills.
Music: Students develop awareness and appreciation of music within local and global cultures. They gain the ability to express themselves creatively through music, involving themselves in lifelong musical pursuits. The curriculum focuses on aural and vocal domains, individual and ensemble instrument playing, and the development of listening, fine motor, creative thinking, and social skills.
